FORGET YOURSELF (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman When I was a little girl I felt so ordinary I was jealous of my sisters, I thought they were so pretty I was angry at my parents Furious with God How come we were not richer I wish we had a cooler car The more I thought about myself The worse my situation got The more I tried to solve my problems The worse my problems got Then one day I heard this voice Coming from so far away But then I heard it deep inside And this is what I heard it say… Forget yourself Forget yourself On the streets of Hong Kong Hollywood and Tokyo Inundated by billboards That let us know How we must have it all And never be denied But you know you can have it all And still not be satisfied Then one day I heard this voice Like a mission bell from far away Then I felt it deep inside And this is what I heard it say Forget yourself Forget yourself I opened my heart To the whole human race Everything fell into place Forget yourself Forget yourself…

LOVING THE LIVING WORLD (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman Where I used to live There was a small river It was a shallow river But it was a river All along it’s water There were lots of birds Singing in the morning When I was growing up Loving the living world Loving the living world Loving the living world We must not forget Every little creature We must not forget If we’re to have a future Where I used to live There were so many trees In the spring they’d blossom We would dance around them There was all this life In and around the river Now it’s like a dream I tell my kids about it Loving the living world Loving the living world Loving the living world We must not forget That we are part of nature We must not forget If we’re to have a future One day a man came A local state official He did not like the river So they got rid of it There were no more birds There were no more trees Just storks that look like vultures Where I used to live There was a small river It was a shallow river But it was a river All along it’s waters There were pretty birds Singing in the morning When I was growing up Loving the living world Loving the living world Loving the living world We must not forget That we are part of nature We must not forget Every living creature We must not forget If we’re to have a future We must not forget Not forget, not forget Yeah Loving the living world

SORROW LIVES IN THIS VILLAGE (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman, Michael Carey Soldiers come down From the mountains Children crying Mothers screaming, shouting Separated from the ones I love Torn forever From all I know of Far from comfort Far from hope Too numb to dream And nowhere to go Hide myself beneath my skin Conceal my humanity Deep within The last time I saw Saw my mother’s face Tears were in her eyes Tears were in her eyes Sorrow lives in this village Where the men have disappeared And the children are soldiers And the women live in fear Sorrow lives in this village I was sent into the army I was taught to kill I was eight years old I was eight years old Sorrow lives in this village Where the men have disappeared And the children are soldiers And the women live in fear Sorrow lives in this village Oh God I pray Take me away from here Sorrow lives in this village Someday the world will see One day the world will know ‘Til then the circle turns, repeats itself And the tears they flow… No one can remember A time when there was peace No one living can remember A time when there was peace Sorrow lives in this village Where the men have disappeared And the children are soldiers And the women live in fear Sorrow lives in this village Oh God I pray Take me away from here Sorrow lives in this village Oh God I pray…

IT'S A WONDER (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman Where do we come from baby Where do we go How did it all begin Will we ever know How did you find me baby Out of everyone Living on this crazy planet Circling the sun It’s a wonder It’s a wonder Just like every creature Breathing on this earth Just like every star In this whole universe It’s a wonder It’s a wonder My baby boy I love you You’re a miracle For every precious moment Boy am I thankful Now that you’re in my life My eyes are open wide I’m filled with the wonder Just being alive It’s a wonder It’s a wonder Just like each and every thing Upon this earth I’m in awe of this Amazing universe It’s a wonder It’s a wonder When I’m feeling tragic I look into your eyes And I start to feel the magic I realize, I realize It’s a wonder It’s a wonder It’s a wonder It’s a wonder Just like each and every thing Upon this earth I’m in awe of this Amazing universe It’s a wonder It’s a wonder…

COURAGE AND GRACE (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman Tonight the rain kisses the window The way I kiss my child’s face In a world that’s so uncertain Where there’s so much pain I want to give a little love every day I want to live with courage and grace I want to give a little thanks every day And dance with whatever may come my way With courage and grace Tonight I watched my husband lie sleeping I was so grateful for the home we had made You never know where this life will lead you You’ve just got to go on faith I want to give a little love every day I want to live with courage and grace I want to give a little thanks every day And dance with whatever may come my way With courage and grace I pray to God I find the strength To live my life and appreciate To love my life come what may I want to give a little love every day I want to live with courage and grace I want to give a little thanks every day And dance with whatever may come my way With courage and grace With courage and grace…

Thirteen 04:24
THIRTEEN (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman I’m thirteen My name is unimportant I live and I work on these streets My day is night Retired soldiers and tourists They pay to play and have their way with me I’ve seen too much I don’t know who to trust I’m so far from my home From the mountains to these streets I’m so scared and alone From the mountains to these streets At the mercy of these thieves My body’s bruised So I take shabu and sniff this glue Anything to ease the pain All the shame I feel Will I ever heal I wonder As I wander in this sad Manilla rain I’ve seen too much I don’t know who to trust I’m so far from my home From the mountains to these streets I’m so scared and alone From the mountains to these streets And I know I’ve got to leave This is not the life I could ever have imagined When I ran away from my family I’m so far from my home From the mountains to these streets I’m so scared and alone From the mountains to these streets I’ve seen too much I don’t know who to trust I’m so far from my home From the mountains to these streets I’m so scared and alone From the mountains to these streets From the mountains to these streets I’m thirteen, My name is unimportant I live and I work on these streets

ONE STEP AT A TIME (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman Arumeto are you awake The morning sun is rising Through the trees Arumeto are you hungry To hungry to stand On your own two tiny feet Like you I’ve lost My father and my mother I’ll be your sister, You’ll be my brother So look ahead don’t be afraid So put your little hand in mine All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time One step at a time All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time Arumeto we must be brave We’ll go to where The sun never sets Arumeto one day we will know A land where there is Food and happiness Why do the grownups Do bad things to each other No matter what happens We’ll always have each other So look ahead don’t be afraid So put your little hand in mine All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time One step at a time All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time They say you’ll never walk But today we’ll prove them wrong ‘Cause I have faith in you Though your body’s weak Your spirit’s strong So look ahead don’t be afraid So put your little hand in mine All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time One step at a time All you’ve got to do is take One step at a time One step, one step at a time

YOU ARE LOVED (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman You’ve been told accept your fate And that your caste is destiny You’ve been told you have no worth And you deserve this poverty Now I’m sailing away So far from my home Everywhere I see your face And I pray someday you’ll know You are loved Oh you ask me why is this And why your eyes they cannot see Why were you born untouchable Condemned to misery Now I’m sailing away So far from my home Everywhere I see your face And I pray someday you’ll know You are loved Ay ay ay I have been awake all night I have no tears left to cry The only thing I’m certain of Is God can see and you are loved Now I’m sailing away So far from my home Everywhere I see your face And I pray someday you’ll know You are loved You are loved

ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE (c) Agnes Chan, Robbie Seidman My close friends say to me “Take it easy let it be” They say be happy But sometimes it is hard to be When I look at the world as it is And all the days of my life I will try to give Whatever it takes to make A world where love lives I think of what the world could be Without hunger, war or poverty A world where children can be free To dream their dreams And live in peace And all the days of my life I will try to give Whatever it takes to make A world where love lives Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay I believe a simple act of kindness Has the power to change the world And all the days of my life I will try to give Whatever it takes to make A world where love lives Whatever it takes to make A world where love lives Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay Ay ah ay ah ay ah ay

BEAUTIFUL CHILD (c) Stevie Nicks Beautiful child Beautiful child You are a beautiful child And I am a fool once more You fell in love when I was only ten The years disappeared Much has gone by since then I bite my lip, can you send me away You touch I have no choice I have to stay I had to stay Ooooh, I had to stay Sleepless child There is so little time Your eyes say yes But you don't say yes I wish that you were mine I wish that you were mine You say it will be harder in the morning I wait for you to say, just go Your hands, held mine so few hours And I'm not a child anymore I'm not a child anymore I'm tall enough To reach for the stars I'm old enough To love you from afar To trusting... yes But then women usually are I'm not a child anymore I'm tall enough To reach for the stars I'm old enough To love you from afar To trusting, yes But then women usually are Even if I never hold you… again Hold you… again

English language debut from Asian pop icon and social activist Agnes Chan. After rising to the status of multinational pop icon from successful teen artist in Hong Kong to full fledged pop star in Japan, Agnes Chan served as Japan's ambassador for UNICEF through the 2000's, traveling to war torn and impoverished regions: Sudan, The Phillipines, Iraq and Eastern Europe bringing attention to the plight of children in these areas. She helped to raise millions of dollars for UNICEF to benefit these children. This album was a diary of her experiences during those travels, giving voice to those children who's stories needed to be told.

In the interest of benefitting UNICEF several several guest artists appeared on the album including film star Jackie Chan, Dishwalla vocalist J.R. Richards, Santana singer Andy Vargas, Kay Hanley of Letters To Cleo and Warner Bros. recording artist Michelle Lewis.
